In Year R, children are sent home with reading tasks including a library book, RWI sound cards and links to RWI sound clips via Tapestry. Weekly maths/topic challenges linked to in school learning are set via Tapestry. Children may also prepare for a weekly show and tell session.
In Key Stage 1, homework includes a library book (or book from home) and two RWI books. Weekly spellings are based around high frequency words and Numbots/ TTRockstars are available for all pupils practise maths skills. Homework challenges linked to current theme/subject or topic in school are sent home on paper and set on Google Classroom. Children may also prepare for show and tell sessions.
In Lower Key Stage 2, children take home an AR levelled library book and two RWI books if still working on phonics. Weekly spellings are usually based around Year 3/4 spelling lists and patterns with Numbots/ TTRockstars for maths skills. Alternate weeks will include a choice of three tasks from which at least one must be completed. On the other weeks, a short consolidation task may be set as appropriate. Children will also be on a rota each half term for presenting something they have done or made at home, or reporting on a recent visit or experience.
In Upper Key Stage 2, children take home an AR levelled library book and two RWI books if still working on phonics. Weekly spellings are usually based around Year 5/6 spelling lists and patterns and Numbots/ TTRockstars for maths skills. A weekly choice of three tasks from which at least one must be completed. Additionally, short consolidation tasks may be set at shorter notice. Children will also be on a rota each half term for presenting something they have done or made at home, or reporting on a recent visit or experience.
